Zainab Ansari is a Corporate Image professional, Public Relations specialist with over forty -five years of high profile and successful career in large multinationals and reputable organizations; extensively exposed to Television, Radio and the literary circles; established writer, poet and a free lance journalist. She has a published book of English poetry "Sometime Somewhere" while her Urdu poetry collection is under compilation.
In 1975, at the age of 20, Ms Ansari joined ICI - the largest multinational in Pakistan, as confidential assistant to the Chairman. Within a few months she presented a comprehensive proposal to set up a Public Relations Department in the Company. Upon acceptance of the proposal by the board, she was appointed as the first PR Executive (and also the first female to achieve main stream management position in the company).
From 1977 to 1985 worked for Hotel Inter Continental in Pakistan. She joined the Karachi hotel as Guest Relations Manager and progressively assumed regional and countrywide responsibilities. Main achievement was enhancement of the Guest Relations Department and devising a program, which was adopted by the entire Middle Eastern Division. She won accolades at home and abroad for her efforts.
Moving up the corporate ladder, Ms Ansari expanded her professional expertise in the fields of marketing, sales, personnel and general management. She successfully managed three departments simultaneously - Personnel, Coordination & Corporate Promotion at Digital Communications (Pvt.) Ltd., while also serving as acting General Manager, Digital Radio Paging.
She worked as Vice President PR with a newly established PR agency, and successfully increased the client base from two yearly retainer clients to 20 yearly retainer clients within a span of one year.
In 1999, she established Xenith Public Relations in affiliation with Fleishman Hillard of USA. Within five years, the company expanded to add two more divisions namely Xenith Events and Xenith Digital. Today, the company works with many national and international organizations and has the honor of partnering with reputable international PR agencies such as Ogilvy, Porter Novelli, MSL group etc., besides being the exclusive arm of Fleishman Hillard in Pakistan.
Ms Ansari has dedicated herself to promote the discipline of public relations and clear misconceptions of PR.
She regularly conducts in-house Media/Spokesperson, Crisis management trainings for company's clients. She also regularly conducts training on Marketing Strategies & Analysis, Management Techniques, Public Relations, Time Management, to marketing/sales and Public Relations Managers of various commercial organizations and universities.
Ms Ansari has been a member of Public Relations Society of America, Office bearer National Council of Who's Who Pakistan, Office bearer Media Women Publishers & Journalists Organization, Permenant Jury member of American Business Awards and International Business Awards (held annually), in Public Relations & Corporate Communications Category.
She has presented various programs for PTV Karachi and played leading roles in Drama Serials , the most popular was her role as Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah.
