Milee Ashwarya is the Senior Vice President and Publisher of the Adult Publishing Group at Penguin Random House India. In her role she leads the frontlist and backlist publishing programmes for the group under imprints like Allen Lane, Vintage, Hamish Hamilton, Viking, Ebury Press, Penguin Business, Penguin Ananda, Penguin Classics, Penguin Veer among others. She has been responsible for establishing and spearheading the publishing vision and strategy at Penguin Random House India for over a decade, discovering new trends and exploring new genres. An award-winning publisher, her focus has been on championing diverse voices, discovering talented debut writers, and building on the inclusive programme at Penguin Random House India.
A TEDx speaker, she is passionate about issues related to working women. She was awarded the Women Achievers’ Samman 2017 for publishing by the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO), the Distinguished Alumni Award 2018 for Excellence in Publishing by Hindu College, Delhi University, the Exceptional Woman of Excellence Award by the Women Economic Forum in 2019 and was selected as a delegate for Australia India Youth Dialogue the pre-eminent track-two young leader's dialogue between Australia and India for 2020.
